On August 18, 1995, The Wall Street Journal ran an article about Warren Buffett. The article listed the following eight individuals under "A Pantheon of Great Investors" (with their estimated long-term returns). See also Fortune's list of "The Investors of the Century" (12/20/99)

Index of winners from the Nobel Foundation. The 1997 winners in Economics were Myron S. Scholes and Robert C. Merton. Here is the Press Release from the Nobel Foundation. The 1990 winners in economics were William F. Sharpe, Harry M. Markowitz, and Merton H. Miller. Here's the press release. (There are also two excellent interviews with Sharpe and Miller in Peter J.
