It exists because the Usenet equivalent, aus.invest, has become flooded with off-topic noise.

What can I post about?

Anything regarding investment and personal finance in Australia. Any asset class, any topic. Discussion on real estate, shares, taxes, the economy, gold, superannuation, futures, scams, options, CFDs, you name it. Just try to keep an open mind about what people say. You may not agree with them, but we're all entitled to our opinions.

What can't I post?

Advertising, and anything that's not related to personal finance. Drifting off topic okay, in moderation.

Posting an ad will get you banned, permanently.

Who can post?

Anybody. However: if you aren't subscribed to the group, or are a new subscriber, your post will be held for moderation. That may take anywhere from half an hour to a day or two, depending on how often I check my email.

Is there a FAQ?

Not specifically, but Travis Morien, a frequent contributor to aus.invest, wrote a FAQ for that group, and you can access it here.
