The vast majority of questions asked by new readers of aus.invest have already been covered in great detail numerous times in the past. You can access a vast trove of information at Google Groups, the site where all past news articles in all groups get archived. Search for your question with keywords, and don't forget to check way back in the past archives for more information. Frequently people don't even respond to new posts about basic questions, because they are burnt out about the topic to start with! Threads can rage for weeks about topics, until everyone gets completely sick of it. If a newbie enters the group and posts THAT question again, possibly they won't get a very good answer. For example, before you start a new thread on the topic, it might be a better idea to go to the search screen of Google Groups and type in "Blue Chip Trader" or "Safety in the Market" or "Trade Tech Market Analyser" or "Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad Poor Dad" or "The Investors Club" so you can help us avoid another long and unpleasant thread on these topics. In all probability the group has heard of the company or product you are interested in and we've already been over it a dozen times with a dozen new readers. (Hint: if the product or service promises to make you rich, quickly, it is probably a scam.) Another resource is the Australian Securities and Investments Commission consumer protection web site. It has articles there on common investment scams, like black box trading software, two tiered real estate market marketing organisations and various other seminars and get rich quick schemes. The site address is www.fido.asic.gov.au. If that isn't enough to put you off the product you are asking about I have lots more of that in the ripoffs section of this web site. |
